- No. 41 crew chief Wingo fined for rule infraction - NASCAR on Wednesday fined Donnie Wingo, crew chief of the No. 41 car in the Sprint Cup Series, for a violation committed during the Aug. 17 race at Michigan.
- Penske makes crew chief change for No. 77 team - Penske Racing on Tuesday announced that Travis Geisler has replaced Chris Carrier as the crew chief of the No. 77 Dodge, driven by Sam Hornish Jr. A mechanical engineering graduate from Vanderbilt, Geisler, 27, had been the race engineer for the No. 12 Dodge, and was an integral part of that team's 2008 Daytona 500 victory.
- Hall of Fame Racing turns to Schrader for Bristol race - Ken Schrader will drive the No. 96 Toyota Camry for Hall of Fame Racing in this weekend's Sharpie 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
- Newman to drive No. 39 for Stewart-Haas in 2009 - Ryan Newman will drive the No.39 -- not the No. 4 -- for Stewart-Haas Racing in 2009.
- Dale Jr.'s "Shifting Gears" to be available on DVD - Hammerhead Entertainment and Team Marketing have partnered to bring Dale Jr. -- Shifting Gears, the five-episode ESPN sports documentary featuring Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his move to Hendrick Motorsports, to DVD this fall.

Indianapolis 500 champion and IndyCar Series points leader Scott Dixon will drive for de Ferran Motorsports in the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta on Oct. 4.
Dixon will co-drive with de Ferran Motorsports team owner Gil de Ferran, the 2003 Indianapolis 500 winner, and Simon Pagenaud in the 10-hour race on the 2.54-mile, 12-turn road circuit.
